Homeowners search for “roof repair near me” or “plumber in Austin” and call one of the first businesses they see. This free checker shows how well your website and online presence match those searches, and exactly what to fix first. Scan a page on your site, plan your service and town pages, generate schema, check your Google Business Profile and compare yourself with the businesses ranking above you. Your answers stay in your browser.

What the checker looks at
The website scan checks the signals that help contractors appear in local results:
- Relevance: your service and town in the title, main heading, description, page text and URL; dedicated pages for each main service and your main towns.
- Name, address and phone: your business name, a phone number that matches your listings, tap-to-call links, your address or service area, and contact details in the footer.
- Structured data: LocalBusiness schema with your name, phone, address or service area, hours and profile links.
- Trust and conversion: reviews, license and insurance, calls to action, quote forms, warranties and real project photos.
- Technical and mobile: HTTPS, indexing, mobile viewport, page weight, render-blocking scripts, robots.txt and an XML sitemap.
Every issue comes with a plain-language fix, ranked by impact, plus suggested titles, headings, URLs and descriptions using your own services and towns.
How to use each tab
- Scan my site: enter your business details once, then scan your homepage or main service page. We also check up to eight linked pages to see whether each main service and town has its own page.
- Page & URL planner: turns your services and towns into a page plan with clean URLs such as /roof-repair/ and /roof-repair-austin-tx/, titles, H1s, descriptions and internal links. Download it as a spreadsheet.
- Schema generator: builds LocalBusiness JSON-LD for your trade, ready to paste into your site.
- Business Profile checklist: your Google Business Profile, reviews and listings drive map rankings, and no website scan can see them. Answer the checklist to get your overall local score.
- Competitor gap: enter what you see on the top three map results to find your gaps and a monthly review goal.
- Ranking factors: what Google says about relevance, distance and prominence, and a 30-day plan.
Why service and town names matter
Google says local results are based mainly on relevance, distance and prominence. Relevance is how well your business matches what someone searched for. When your pages name the service and the town clearly (in the title, heading, URL and helpful content), and your Business Profile uses the most specific category, it’s easier for search engines and customers to see that you’re the right match. Create genuine pages with real local projects and reviews; Google’s spam policies prohibit near-identical “doorway” pages made only to rank in many towns.
How scanning works
Browsers don’t let one website read another, so Advanton fetches your page for you, read-only, and nothing is stored. The analysis runs in your browser. If you prefer, paste your page source into the checker and it runs completely offline.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Local SEO checker free?
Yes. There’s no sign-up, and your answers stay in your browser.
Can it see my Google Business Profile?
No website scan can. Use the Business Profile checklist and Competitor gap tabs to cover your profile, reviews and listings.
Should I put the city name in my URLs?
For pages about a service in a specific town, yes: a short URL such as /roof-repair-austin-tx/ helps customers and search engines. Your main service page can simply be /roof-repair/.
How often should I scan?
After making changes, and every few months. Re-scan to see your score improve.
Does a higher score guarantee rankings?
No one can guarantee rankings. The checker focuses on the signals Google describes and the practical steps that help contractors win local customers.
