Free Contractor Website Builder: Get More Jobs From Your Website

Get more jobs from your website: an example contractor website made with Advanton's free builder, with estimate requests, license badges, projects and local SEO

The free website builder made for contractors. Roofers, remodelers, painters, plumbers, flooring and tile pros, electricians, HVAC companies and handymen: choose from five designs made for your trade, and build a professional website with estimate requests, before-and-after projects, your license and a page for every town you serve. It takes about 10 minutes, and it’s free.

Turn your website into your best source of jobs

Homeowners don’t pick a contractor at random. They search for the job and their town, check reviews and photos of your work, and contact whoever makes it easiest. Your website should help at every step:

  1. Get found in every town you serve.
  2. Win trust before the first call.
  3. Capture every lead, day or night.
  4. Know which marketing actually brings jobs.

1. Get found in every town you serve

A roofing contractor's area page for Frisco, TX, with the town in its web address and title, and the builder's Local SEO score

Homeowners search for "roof repair in Frisco" or "plumber near Round Rock", not just "contractor". The builder helps your website match those searches.

  • A page for every town or county you serve (up to 20), with the area in its web address, title and description, such as "Roofing contractor in Frisco, TX".
  • Your trade and city in every important place: your home page, every service page and even your image file names.
  • Search engines understand your business: your trade (such as Roofing contractor, Plumber, Electrician or HVAC business), the areas you serve and how your pages connect.
  • A live Local SEO score that shows what to improve next.
  • Your Google Business Profile, linked, plus an optional map.

Google says local results depend on relevance, distance and prominence, so pair your website with a complete Google Business Profile and a steady flow of reviews.

2. Win trust before the first call

  • Your license, front and center. Your license number appears in a trust bar under your hero and in the footer of every page. Many states, such as California, require your license number in your advertising.
  • Insured, bonded, years in business, warranty and certifications, in one clear bar.
  • Before-and-after projects. Show up to 8 projects with photos, job type and town. Each town’s page shows the projects you’ve done there.
  • Real reviews. Add your best reviews, and collect more with our free review request kit.

3. Capture every lead, day or night

An estimate request form on a contractor website, and the request notification the contractor receives
  • A "Request an estimate" page that asks the right questions: the job, the location, the timeline, and a photo of the problem.
  • Estimate buttons everywhere: in the header, on every service and area page, and in every call to action.
  • Requests that reach you. Host your website free on Netlify and requests (with photos) arrive in your dashboard and by email, with built-in spam protection. Or choose the email option, which works on any host.
  • A 24/7 emergency bar with tap-to-call, if you take emergency jobs.
  • Tap-to-call on every phone, because most homeowners will find you on mobile.

When the job comes in, send a professional quote with our free quote and invoice generator.

4. Know which marketing brings jobs

An example chart of where a contractor's estimate requests came from, such as Google Maps, Google search and referrals

Every estimate request asks "How did you hear about us?", so you can see what’s working: Google Maps, search, referrals, Nextdoor or your yard signs. Compare your cost per booked job across channels, spend more on what works and stop what doesn’t. Our guide to marketing for contractors explains how.

Your own website vs. shared lead services

Your own website Shared lead marketplaces
Who the lead belongs to You, and only you Often sent to several contractors
What you pay Free to build; free hosting options A fee for every lead
Builds your reputation Yes: your name, reviews and projects Mostly builds the marketplace’s brand
Control Your content, your rules Their rules and pricing

Lead services can still help fill gaps. Track each one by cost per booked job, and keep building the website you own.

Why it matters

  • 97% of consumers read reviews for local businesses, and they check several review sites before deciding (BrightLocal, 2026).
  • AI assistants are now the third most used source of local recommendations, behind Google and Facebook. They draw on your website, profiles and reviews (BrightLocal, 2026).
  • Homeowners spend about $517 billion a year on improvements and repairs (Harvard Joint Center for Housing Studies, mid-2026).

Five designs and a starter kit for your trade

Pick your trade, then choose from five designs: Ridge, Pro, Craft, Fresh and Heritage, each in colors and artwork made for your trade. The builder fills in typical services with descriptions, common questions, "why choose us" points and the right search keywords, ready for you to edit.

How it works

  1. Pick your trade and design. Your starter kit fills in services and questions, in the design you choose.
  2. Make it yours. Add your business details, license, the towns you serve, your projects and real reviews. Watch your website update as you type.
  3. Download and publish. Drag the folder onto Netlify Drop and you’re live in about a minute. Connect your own domain whenever you’re ready.

Frequently asked questions

Is it really free?
Yes. The builder, the trade kits and the templates are free, and the website you download is yours. Netlify and Cloudflare offer free hosting for websites like this. Your own domain name, such as yourcompany.com, is optional and bought separately.

Do I need any technical skills?
No. If you can fill in a form, you can build your website. The download includes step-by-step instructions for putting it online.

How do estimate requests reach me?
If you publish on Netlify, requests and photos arrive in your Netlify dashboard and by email, after a one-time setup that the download explains. Check Netlify’s current plan for form limits. If you host elsewhere, choose the email option, and the form opens the visitor’s email app with the request ready to send.

Will my website rank first on Google?
No one can honestly guarantee that. The builder gives you the local SEO basics that matter, and your Google Business Profile, reviews and distance from the searcher matter too.

Can I update my website later?
Yes. Your work is saved in the browser you used. Make changes, download again and replace the files on your host.

Does it work for my trade?
The kits cover roofing, remodeling, painting, plumbing, flooring and tile, electrical, HVAC and handyman work. For other trades, start from scratch or with the closest kit, and edit the services.
